On my weekend return visit to the High Line - a city park built on what was once an elevated railroad track on Manhattan’s west side - I was prepared to enjoy the gardens. But I’d not recalled how many murals there are overlooking the walk and in the surrounding neighborhood.
I took this photo with the people in the foreground to give a perspective of just how large is this mural staring down on the High Line.
This car seemingly is enjoying watching the people walking by as much as we enjoy watching it.
This mural isn’t actually at the High Line but about a block away, part of the artwork of a public housing complex’s playground.
Also nearby I met this gentleman on the stoop of his building observing the passing scene in a neighborhood bordering Hudson Yards.
When they built the High Line they preserved some of the tracks along the way. Pretty cool I think.
Boarding the High Line are old and new buildings, among them this one. Walking the track gives one an unique perspective on a unique design.
Not every art show is in a gallery or museum. And this is proof, once again, that art is in the eye of the beholder. Taken about a block away from the High Line.

Thank you for introducing The High Line.
I enjoyed those pictures. I’d like to visit there and see them in my own eyes some time. 😊
